Groups tab

This tab consists of two separate parts:

  • The list of web service groups on the left side of the screen,
  • The properties of the selected group on the right side of the screen.

List of groups grid

This grid contains:

  • The predefined groups containing official web services (e.g., remote access, cloud computing, web conferencing),
  • Custom groups, if any, meant to contain custom web services. Such groups are manually created by the administrator.

Possible actions in the service group grid

Enter a filter Enter a sequence of letters found in the name of the web service groups you are looking for, to restrict the display to these groups.
Select all By clicking on this button, all service groups found in the grid will be selected.
Add

This button makes it possible to create a new blank custom group:

  1. Click on Add.
  2. Enter the Group name (no spaces allowed).
  3. Add Comments if necessary.
  4. Click on Apply.
Rename

This action is allowed only for custom groups.

  1. Select the custom group that you wish to rename.
  2. Click on Rename.
  3. Enter the new Group name.
  4. Click on Apply.
Delete

This action is allowed only for custom groups.

  1. Enter the custom group(s) that you want to delete (select several by pressing [Ctrl]).
  2. Click on Remove.
  3. Confirm by clicking on OK.
Check usage

This button allows you to check whether a web service group listed in the grid is used in the firewall's configuration:

  1. Select the group.
  2. Click on Check usage.
    The configuration modules that use this group are shown in the menu on the left.

Viewing the contents of a service group

When you scroll over a group, a tooltip shows its properties:

  • Name: the name of the group, e.g., Microsoft,
  • Read only: indicates whether the group can be renamed or deleted. Official web service groups are always in read-only mode.
  • Members of the group: lists the web services included in the group.

Editing the contents of a service group

Double-click on the group you want to edit.

NOTE
Only custom groups can be edited.

Details of the group are displayed in Properties:

Comments Enter comments for the group if necessary.
These comments are immediately applied (they appear automatically in the service group grid).
Select all

By clicking on this button, all services found in the group will be selected so that a common action can be applied to all of them (Delete).

Add

This button makes it possible to add services or service groups to the custom group being edited:

  1. Click on Add.
    The list of web services (official and custom) and service groups defined on the firewall appears.
    Services already in the group will be highlighted in yellow and the checkbox next to their name is selected.

NOTE
Groups containing a service already in the group being edited cannot be added.

  1. Select the checkboxes next to the names of the services or groups that you want to add to the group.
    Changes are applied immediately.
Delete

This action is allowed only for custom groups.

  1. Enter the services or service groups that you want to delete from the group being edited (select several by pressing [Ctrl]).
  2. Click on Remove.
    Changes are applied immediately.
