New features and enhancements in version 5.1.3
DNS configuration management
DNS configuration management is now a native feature on the Stormshield SSL VPN client in macOS and Linux in version 5.1.3, which does away with manual scripts and additional interventions. This update enables faster deployment and simplifies the user experience. DNS configuration management was already possible in Windows.
Do note that on Linux operating systems, you will also need to update the openvpn packet to version 2.7 in order to benefit from this enhancement.
For further information, refer to the Stormshield SSL VPN client v5 installation guide.
Showing passwords of saved connections
The button to show passwords of saved connections is now disabled in version 5.1.3. This will ensure that passwords remain confidential, even on shared or unattended workstations.
"Import OVPN file" mode renamed "OpenVPN mode"
The "Import OVPN file" mode, which can be selected in the information regarding a connection, is now named "OpenVPN mode". Two connection modes are available:
- Stormshield mode: allows the Stormshield SSL VPN client to connect and automatically retrieve the VPN configuration from the SNS firewall, and to send information about the client workstation to the firewall to verify its compliance (ZTNA).
- OpenVPN mode: makes it possible to import an OpenVPN (OVPN) configuration file provided by the SNS firewall, and to connect to its OpenVPN gateway.
