Analysis of ClamAV files
The types of files that need to be scanned by the Stormshield Network firewall antivirus service are configured in this menu.
| Analyze compressed executable files |
This option enables the decompression engine (Diet,Pkite, Lzexe, Exepack, etc.). |
| Analyze archives |
This option enables the extraction engine and allows scanning archives (zip, arj, lha, rar, cab…) |
| Block encrypted or password-protected files |
This option allows blocking files that are encrypted or protected by a password. |
| Block unsupported file formats |
This option allows blocking file formats that the antivirus is unable to scan. |
Analysis of files with Advanced antivirus
| Inspect archives |
This option enables the extraction engine and allows scanning archives (zip, arj, lha, rar, cab, etc.) |
| Block password-protected files |
This option allows blocking password-protected files. |
| Activate heuristic analysis |
Heuristic analysis is a method used to detect new viruses as well as new variants of known viruses, and is based on the assumed behavior of a program in order to determine whether such a program is a virus. This method is not to be confused with statistical analysis, which operates by looking up a repository of known viruses. Heuristic analysis therefore makes it possible to detect viruses that have not yet been referenced in an antivirus engine vendor's repository. This option is not supported on SN160(W), SN210(W) and SN310 firewall models. |
